They're making My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult into a movie. I had no idea. The book made me sad, but I loved it. Has potential. Hopefully the movie won't just float by me without me knowing about it like some other movies from books that I loved. (Blindness, I'm looking at you.)

We now have the ability to choose your baby's physical traits by manipulating their genes. This reminds me of Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress, depicting a futuristic setting where some people are genetically altered to not require sleep.

Watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button today, since tickets for Coraline were still sold out. I highly recommend it - the interaction between Benjamin and Daisy is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. It hammered into my mind the things that are impossible to change, but made me think of all the things that are in our control.

Have two bunnies in my custody while their owners are in Hawaii. They're quite adorable, but they don't do much. Glad they're here though.

Riding the snowy waves

Went snowboarding for the first time last Saturday. Only time that I've wished for a little more padding to fall on.

Fun overall - I've only gone skiing once back in 6th grade, but comparing to memory, I prefer snowboarding more. Plus, you look cooler...if you manage to stay upright. Instead of legs, gave my arms a better workout from the need to continually push myself back up from the ground. At one point Dad-Mike noted that I seemed to be trying to fall to avoid going too fast. Learned mostly how to stop, turn left, and kind of turn right.

It was also warm enough that I would've worn a t-shirt had the slopes not been icy hard and oh so welcoming. Hurray for another winter sport to enjoy.
